Coriolanus 2014

I am not entirely sure where to start, because it’s only been a few hours since I finished watching the Donmar Warehouse’s production of Coriolanus, 1 hour since I got home, and 12 minutes since I finished eating some strawberry ice cream because I needed something to soothe myself.

I want to start when I was 12. I want to start there because that was the year I decided to read Shakespeare. I didn’t do it because it was a natural progression, or I was that clever (I mean, I was that clever at 12, though I’m pretty sure I’ve only gotten dumber since then), I did it because we had to read a play for summer reading, and I wanted to impress my teacher. My first Shakespeare play was A Midsummer Night’s Dream and I understood what I needed to for a report. I was hooked.
